Held from 24 to 28 August 2020, the first Essentials of Technology Commercialisation webinar series by IPI brought together a group of enthusiastic learners from institutes of higher learning, tech transfer offices and industry players from Singapore, Hong Kong and Indonesia for a week of online learning. Participants learnt the basics of assessing commercial potential of new technologies, and the strategies and tools for technology marketing, valuation and licensing from trainers – IPI's Head of Intermediary Dr Sze Tiam Lin and Deputy Head of Intermediary Michael Goh.
“I had a wonderful time and experience with this workshop. The IPI team has built up an excellent curriculum even a novice like me can take on future challenges in the bridging IP and commercialisation,” said Shabbir Moochhala, Associate Professor, Department of Surgery and Pharmacology of National University of Singapore.
“Despite being unable to meet participants physically face-to-face, we made efforts to keep the five two-hour webinars engaging and interactive through smaller break-out sessions and group work. We are pleased that many of the participants have responded positively and enjoyed the virtual classroom setting which has brought in like-minded professionals in the region,” remarked Dr Sze Tiam Lin.
The next run is scheduled in quarter four of 2020. For more enquiries, please write to [email protected].
