On 24 November 2016, IPI received a delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam. Ms Huong Tran Thi Thu, General Director, Assistant to Minister from the Ministry of Science and Technology Vietnam was the leader of the 21-member delegation made up of senior policy advisors and makers. The delegates were undergoing their Innovation Management training module as part of the Vietnam-Finland Innovation Partnership Programme delivered in Singapore and Finland.
The Ministry of Science and Technology Vietnam was keen to seek international partnership opportunities in innovation and joint research projects with Singapore. The group was also here to learn more about Singapore’s experience in building the research, innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, and the best practices of Singapore’s commercialisation of technologies.
Dr Sze Tiam-Lin, Director of IPI, shared with the group about IPI and how its engagement model could address the challenges faced by enterprises in their innovation journeys or external R&D partnerships. At the end of the fruitful meeting, the Vietnamese delegation expressed interest in partnering IPI to promote Vietnamese technologies for R&D collaborations with Singapore companies.
