IPI was a returning speaker at the Food Gifts Workshop organised by the Singapore Food Manufacturers’ Association (SFMA), Focus Network Agencies (FNA) and SPRING Singapore on 8 March 2018. Jannice Peh, Technology Manager for Food & Nutrition from IPI, shared how IPI could support food companies to source for enabling technologies in the area of food gifting innovation. Some of these innovations include the development of protein-enriched food products and enhancing traceability along the food production value chain through blockchain technology to address the trends in health and wellness, and food security when it comes to food gifting as highlighted by Frost and Sullivan.
The workshop follows the successful launch of the Singapore Food Gifts initiative at Changi Airport in November 2017, which is part of SFMA's drive to accelerate the commericalisation of innovative products and help local food manufacturers access new markets. This year’s programme was tailored to enhance Singapore’s food manufacturers knowledge through sharing of new insights and trends in the Asian Food gift market, innovative technologies for potential adoption, and case studies on how good packaging design builds a strong and distinctive brand.
