Representatives from 18 local Innovation and Enterprise Offices (IEO) and supporting government agencies came together for the inaugural IEO Forum organised by IPI on 31 March 2017. The Innovation & Enterprise Offices, formerly known as Technology Transfer Offices, support IP management, commercialisation and start-up activities at the Universities, Research Institutes, Hospitals, Polytechnics and Institute of Technical Education in Singapore.
The forum aims to provide a platform for the IEOs to share, discuss and learn the best practices from each other, and collectively build a stronger IEO community to drive more IEO-industry collaborations. Co-chaired by Dr Sze Tiam Lin, Senior Director of IPI and Dr Lim Jui, CEO of NTUitive Pte Ltd, the first forum discussion focused on enhancing better engagement between industry and government as well as IEO knowledge and capabilities development.
“The IEOs have an important role to play in supporting enterprises in their efforts to adopt technology. We are encouraged by the high IEO turnout and even more by their openness to share and contribute ideas. There is a sense of camaraderie and IPI looks forward to working closely with our innovation and enterprise partners,” said Dr Sze.
