The 8th IEO Forum held on 21 April 2021 brought together leaders from local Innovation and Enterprise Offices (IEO) and enterprise development agencies to discuss new developments and initiatives that support innovation and enterprise (I&E) development in Singapore.
In his welcoming remarks, Prof Tan Sze Wee, Assistant Chief Executive, Enterprise division of A*STAR, expressed his appreciation for such a platform that focused on supporting I&E development and strengthening partnership within the community under the new Research, Innovation & Enterprise Plan 2025 (RIE2025).
The forum had an insight-packed agenda where participants gained a better understanding of Enterprise, a new division of A*STAR and how its Consortium Management Office aims to support industry development and commercialisation. They also learned how the Singapore Health Technologies Consortium (HealthTEC) supports the commercialisation of health and wellness solutions ranging from health sensing technologies, analytics and AI in Singapore.
The forum wrapped up on a high note as IPI and Enterprise Singapore shared an exciting line-up of events for the innovation community. This year, Singapore’s leading technology events – TechInnovation will be held from 28 to 30 September 2021 and the Singapore Week of Innovation and TeCHnology (SWITCH) will be held from 8 to 12 November 2021. IPI also invited all IEOs to support the upcoming Abu Dhabi-Singapore Smart Cities Open Innovation Challenge which offers Singapore companies the opportunity to pitch, develop and test-bed their solutions with the Abu Dhabi City government and major corporates.
The next IEO Forum will be hosted and co-chaired by Republic Polytechnic and is scheduled for the third quarter in 2021.
