While researchers have been working on Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) for decades, there is renewed interest in the advent of Industry 4.0, especially for far-field power transfer. If far-field WPT continues to improve with a clear path to maturity and mass adoption, it has the potential to untether the world of industrial IoT.

The virtual technology sharing session, jointly organised by IPI and TransferFi on 27 April 2021, aims to:

  • Present the background and the technology behind WPT;
  • Introduce strategies for extending the range of WPT, such as active beamforming, and optimisation of RF-to-DC (radio-frequency-to-direct-current) conversion for power harvesting;
  • Share how long-range WPT technology can be easily implemented in your applications; and
  • Explore new collaboration opportunities in the growing field of WPT.
