Manager, Innovation & Technology

Job Responsibilities:

As an Innovation & Technology Manager at IPI, you will serve as a strategic partner to Singapore enterprises seeking to leverage technology to drive business growth and differentiation. You will act as the bridge between these enterprises and their technology partners, facilitating collaboration and knowledge exchange within the global innovation ecosystem.

Responsibilities 

1. Supporting Singapore Businesses 

  • You'll act as a trusted partner, working closely with companies to identify their challenges and find the technologies that can help them grow. 

  • This involves understanding their business goals, current pain points, and technology needs. 

  • Once you've identified a good fit, you'll help them navigate the process of adopting and commercialising the new technology. 

 

2. Building and Expanding IPI's Innovation Network 

  • You'll be responsible for expanding IPI's network of innovation sources and technology partners around the world. 

  • This involves staying on top of industry trends and identifying new technologies that address the needs of Singapore companies. 

  • You'll also be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with existing technology partners. 

 

3. Thought Leadership and Industry Engagement 

  • You'll play a key role in establishing IPI as a thought leader in the Innovation and Technology space. 

  • This involves identifying and sharing insights on upcoming technology trends through publications and forums. 

  • You'll also be involved in organising industry events like IPI's TechInnovation, and identifying innovative solutions for IPI's Co-Innovation Programme. 

Pre-requisites:

Experience (4-7 years) 

  • Client-facing experience: You should have a strong track record of working directly with clients in a technical field. 

  • Prior working experience or familiarity with the Singapore innovation ecosystem (e.g., technology transfer organisations, accelerators, incubators etc.,) is a plus. 

  • Specific industry knowledge: Experience in any of the following areas is a plus i.e. Mechatronics and Electronics (IoT, Sensors). 

  • Technology expertise: Your background should involve technology development, adoption, or commercialization. 

  • Local SME/Startup experience: Experience working with small and medium-sized enterprises or startups is a plus. 

  

Academic Background 

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science or Engineering is required. 

  • Postgraduate qualifications: A Master's degree in Technology Management, Intellectual Property Management, or Business Administration is advantageous.
